Talasimova (1990) - "Fragmented faces"

This piece is an exploration of the human gaze and the complex layers of identity within a shared space. Through a bold, graphic language of black and white lines, punctuated by vibrant primary blues, yellows, and a central verdant green, I’ve sought to capture the feeling of 'seeing and being seen.'
The composition is a mosaic of fragmented faces and stylized eyes that overlap and intertwine, suggesting that our individual perspectives are never truly isolated. The fluid, organic shapes of the features contrast with sharp, geometric boundaries, creating a rhythmic tension that guides the viewer's eye across the canvas.
The central green element acts as a focal point—an abstract 'nucleus' of thought or nature amidst the urban, almost architectural structure of the faces. By simplifying forms into their most essential strokes, I invite the observer to find their own reflection in this sea of faces, exploring the dialogue between the individual and the collective consciousness.
