Description from the seller

Rare aristocratic nineteenth-century erotic game – Hand-painted wheel on copper – A unique specimen
extraordinary and unusual private entertainment object, dating to the second half of the 19th century: a refined erotic wheel handcrafted, probably destined for an aristocratic and secluded milieu.

The piece consists of a circular turned wooden base (overall wheel diameter 29 cm), finely worked and enriched with decorative applications in gilded bronze with floral and starry motifs.

At the top is applied a copper disc, divided into wedges, each of which houses original hand-painted scenes and poses of an erotic nature in an eighteenth-nineteenth-century style. The miniatures display a refined painting hand, with iconographic references to the European libertine tradition.

The mechanism is simple yet effective: a light push imparts a rotational movement to the wheel, which stops at random on one of the illustrated wedges, thus determining the selected “position.” The central pin and the small upper metal indicator complete the ingenious system.

Careful packaging, quickly made with appropriate materials
