Large ceramic plate finely decorated with rich polychrome enamel on a yellow background adorned with blue arabesques and multicolored chrysanthemums. These flowers, imperial symbols of Japan, symbolize longevity and perfection. The composition, with a decorative balance typical of the Taishō period, testifies to the continuity of Meiji-era ceramic traditions, while incorporating a modern taste for vivid color contrasts and textured backgrounds.
