Beneath the Surface explores the fragile boundary between exposure and concealment. Four figures sit together, yet each appears isolated within her own psychological interior. Their bodies are rendered with a deliberate simplicity, almost naïve in contour, while their faces dissolve into dense, visceral layers of paint — thick, distorted, unstable.

The contrast between the calm, flattened bodies and the turbulent facial textures suggests a tension between how we present ourselves and what remains hidden underneath. The pink caps act as a subtle unifying element, almost like a uniform or symbolic veil, while the red seating becomes a shared stage — a space of confrontation rather than comfort.

There is no fixed narrative, yet the gestures imply fragmentation, doubt, and self-interrogation. Smoke-like forms in the background blur the atmosphere, reinforcing the idea that identity is fluid, constantly shifting between exterior image and interior truth.
