"Tocco Leggero" is part of a research project on intimacy and femininity that the author has been pursuing for 10 years. A portion of the work has been published in the projects "Bold Body" and "Lines", printed in booklet format and in a limited edition.
Emiliano Picciolo earned a diploma in Photography and Graphic Design from an Art High School, starting his career specializing in portrait photography and commercial still life.
In 2019 he received a special mention at the European competition PhotoVue (held in the Netherlands and promoted by BenQ) for his portrait work, a recognition that highlighted his refined artistic vision.
His research focuses on artistic nude, a genre he defines as a “humanscape photography”.
His work is distinguished by particular attention to contrasts and the dialogue between fullness and emptiness, creating geometries and light points shaped by natural light — his main source of inspiration and object of study in daily life. He favors black and white and integrates digital and analog techniques to give shape to his vision.
In 2021 he founded Mellor’s Studio, a visual arts laboratory, where he has developed commercial projects and presented his works in a permanent exhibition. Parallel to his professional activity, Emiliano is deeply involved in education, regularly teaching photography, editing and fine-art printing techniques.
