Globe - 1950-1960

For sale: a baroque/antique-style desktop globe, a piece that combines cartographic function with a classic decorative accessory.
The Base: It is made of turned wood with a dark finish, typical of the "arte povera" or colonial style. The three-leg structure (tripod) with central joints is a classic design for library globes.
The Map: It is not a modern map, but a reproduction of historic cartography (likely from the 16th or 17th century). We note inscriptions in Latin such as "Mar Del Nort" (Atlantic Ocean), illustrations of period ships and sea monsters, as well as the depiction of Africa with archaic names.
Although the aesthetic recalls the Renaissance or the 1600s, the item is a vintage reproduction produced in the 20th century (very likely between the 1960s).
