This painting evokes summer evenings on burning asphalt, the sound of the sidewalks, the sensation of freedom and lightness. Movement and memory, captured in bright colors and a pared-down form.

As with all my still lifes, I seek to reveal the beauty of everyday objects. “Skates” invites the viewer to pause, to smile, and to remember that even the simplest objects can carry memories, emotions, and joy.

Silvia Vogler is a visual artist based in Kempten, in the Allgäu region.

As a practicing architect, your works are characterized by your handling of space, matter, surface, and light.

Her oil paintings are characterized by a pared-down, clear formal language, luminous colors, and subtle tension. She often takes familiar everyday objects as a starting point, reduced to the essential, enhanced with precise details and a touch of nostalgia. This is her way of making the beauty of everyday visible. She thus creates modern still lifes that reveal more than they appear to at first glance.

“If someone smiles while looking at it and thinks: ‘Life is beautiful,’ then I have achieved my goal,” she says about her work.
