AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Elegant porcelain pharmacy vase from French origin dating to the period of Louis-Philippe I (1830–1848).

The body is cylindrical with a moulded base and flared rim. The decor, sober and balanced, features a central black and brick-red cartouche, typical of French productions from the first half of the nineteenth century, originally intended for inscribing the name of the pharmaceutical contents. The bottom is milk-white with gilded fillets at the base, now showing natural and coherent age wear.

This type of vase was commonly used in French pharmacies for the storage of medicinal herbs, powders, or galenic preparations.

Good overall condition for its age.
Normal wear to the gilding and light traces of time compatible with use and with about 180 years of history. No obvious structural breaks.
