陽野 (Yōno, Japanese for sunlit field) is a large, meditative painting that focuses on the warmth and depth of earth tones. A dense, dark band anchors the lower part of the canvas, above which a broad field of ochre gradually lightens toward the top, as if a landscape were slowly filling with afternoon light. The image remains deliberately abstract: it can be read as a sunlit plain, a distant hillside, or simply a quiet vibration of colour.

The surface is built through many thin washes of burnt umber and yellow ochre, allowing the pigments to soak into the weave of the canvas rather than form a heavy layer. Soft transitions, faint overlaps and subtle irregularities remain visible, like traces of shade and light shifting over soil. These details embody a wabi-sabi sensibility, an appreciation of simplicity, patina and the small imperfections that record time and process.
