RAF presents Soft Scream (Handmade), a limited edition mixed‑media rug (90 cm by 60 cm) signed by hand, produced in Italy and sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
DIRECT SALE €1500
Handmade rug - 90x60
For each design only three pieces are made, but the handmade production guarantees that no specimen is perfectly identical to another: micro-variations in texture, relief, color tones, and workmanship make each piece unique.
Rug with 4 cm extra white border for mounting on a wooden frame and to be framed.
RAF is often presented, in exhibition and sales contexts, as one of the best artists internationally.
He is a contemporary artist who develops a dynamic and recognizable visual language, capable of traversing styles and historical references with a current and experimental approach. His research blends classical figuration, urban culture, geometric abstraction, and contemporary graphic sensibility, creating works that oscillate between iconic and conceptual.
Inspired by the Renaissance, Pop Art, Street Art and modernist abstraction, RAF reworks symbols and images through digital painting, collage, vector construction, and graphic manipulation.
A central element of his practice is the transition from digital to matter: the works are transformed into handmade rugs. After digital design, the drawing is transferred onto canvas and worked manually, giving life to unique pieces in which the image becomes a three-dimensional textile surface.
This passage from the screen’s luminous surface to the textile filaments creates a material short circuit: the digital image becomes a physical, tactile, sculptural object. The rug is not a simple reproduction, but a textile reinterpretation of the original work.
2021 – Synthetic Identities, Spazio Prisma, Milan
2022 – Urban Icons Reframed, Atelier Nord, Brussels
2023 – Geometric Narratives, The Format Room, Amsterdam
2024 – Material Pixels, Galerie Horizon, Zurich
2024 – Surface & Code, District Art Platform, Madrid
2025 – From Screen to Fiber, Contemporary Craft Pavilion, Copenhagen
RAF was born in an urban context that profoundly influences his visual sensibility. From a young age he developed a strong interest in drawing and imagery as a form of personal storytelling, starting to draw, paint and gradually approaching the world of digital graphics. The move to digital happens as a natural evolution of his research: attracted by the possibilities of image manipulation and construction.
- Pieces authenticated by certificate
- Create the frame only after receiving the artwork, as the dimensions of some pieces may vary by 1 - 2 cm
- Color tones may vary from the original work due to screen settings and lighting conditions during the photoshoot.
SHIPPING INFORMATION
Combined shipping for this lot is not available because each lot is packaged individually for logistical reasons and to allow opening a dispute with the courier in case of loss of the single piece.
