Description from the seller
Art Deco / Modernist Oil and Vinegar Cruet Set – Silver Plate – Maker’s mark A.C. – Mid-20th Century
Elegant oil and vinegar cruet set consisting of a silver-plated stand with two matching glass bottles and their original glass stoppers.
The stand is marked “Silver Plate” together with a maker’s mark A.C. in an oval cartouche. The exact manufacturer remains unidentified, but the construction and clean geometric design are typical of European Art Deco and early modernist tableware from the mid-20th century (circa 1930–1950).
The silver-plated holder features a refined and minimalist structure with rounded edges, ball feet and a central carrying handle. It holds two beautifully shaped glass cruet bottles with original stoppers. Sets like this were traditionally used at the dining table for olive oil and vinegar, both in refined households and in restaurants.
The combination of polished silver plate and clear glass gives the piece an elegant and timeless appearance, suitable for both classic and contemporary table settings.
Very good condition.
The silver plating is well preserved with minor signs of use consistent with age.
The glass bottles and original stoppers are in very good condition.
