Description from the seller
Vintage Breitling Genève mechanical chronometer, with the iconic “sport timing” look, featuring a 1/5 second graduation (note “1/5” on the dial). Large white dial with very legible black numerals, with colored/sectorized sport-style markers (including the “45” marker particularly meaningful for football).
The chronometer is personalized/engraved for the world of Italian refereeing:
• Dial: “F.I.G.C.”
• Back: “F.I.G.C. – A.I.A. Settore Arbitrale”
FIGC = Italian Football Federation.
AIA = Italian Referees Association, an organization that, within FIGC, handles the recruitment, training, and employment of referees.
This engraving demonstrates institutional/refereeing provenance. It is very likely that this chronometer was used for refereeing an official Italian football match.
Movement signed Breitling, Cal. 320.
Case in nickel-chromium.
Diameter: 57 mm
Chronometer functional: start/stop/reset OK.
Resetting perfect: returns exactly to 0.
Good vintage condition with normal signs of wear visible (micro-scratches/marks), consistent with age. The photos are an integral part of the description.
