Antique silver pocket watch from the mid-19th century (circa 1850–1900) with manual winding movement, over 50 mm case diameter (53 mm), in good condition with minor wear, functioning and shipped insured, weight 97 g.
Description from the seller
Really splendid, a very ancient pocket watch dating from around the mid-19th century, with a dial you can observe with your own eyes, it is truly stunning. Raised numerals with gold decorations and enamels on much of the dial. The watch runs well; occasionally the winding feels a touch lighter, but then it recharges properly and runs the watch at its best. The only practically visible sign of wear is a restoration visible around 7/8 o'clock, near the 20 mark on the 24-hour scale. But as you can see, the restoration was really done by an artist, so much so that when I bought it I hadn't even noticed it was there; I only realized it after I got home and checked it more carefully. 53 mm in diameter from left to right, double finishing of the case, with two bands with engravings at the ends, and a central body with another texture. The rear case shows a couple of very slight dents/warps in the metal. An ancient and very interesting mechanism. The chain has not been tested and I cannot say whether it is silver. The watch itself is in tested silver, but there are no hallmarks. The weight of just the watch is 82 g. The total weight with the chain is about 97 g. Truly a splendor of rare beauty.
