This edition offers the complete, critically prepared text of Multatuli’s novel from 1860, with extensive commentary on the origin of the work, variants, and the historical context of colonial Netherlands in the Indies.
2 - Collected Works of Multatuli, 10 volumes in 5 bindings, published by Elsevier, 1907, in luxurious hard-cover with a classical design and with gold embossing, 17 cm x 12 cm, 280 pages per book (2 books per binding). In good condition, with the owner’s name in every volume. This edition forms an important collection of his writings, compiled by his widow, Mimi Hamminck
