Oil painting titled Heuernte, a 19th-century landscape by Adolf Lins (1856–1927), signed, from Germany, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
Adolf Lins (1856–1927) – “Gänselins” – Wide landscape with haystacks and a farmhouse
For sale is an atmospheric oil painting by the well-known German painter Adolf Lins, also known as “Gänselins.” The work depicts an autumn rural scene with distinctive haystacks (Diemen), in the background a red farmhouse beneath tall trees.
Artistic classification:
Lins was a central figure of the Düsseldorf School of Painting and spent much time at the Willingshausen artists’ colony. This work stands out for its thick impasto and a subdued, earthy color palette typical of his late, impressionistically influenced landscape studies. The light play in the cloudy sky gives the scene particular depth.
