Biography
Mel Ramos (1935–2018) is regarded as one of the most significant American Pop Art artists. Ramos studied art at Sacramento State College in California and was closely connected with Pop Art greats like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Tom Wesselmann. His works fuse consumer critique with erotic visual language and are now housed in major museums as well as international private collections. In the art market, Ramos’s paintings and prints attract wide attention, particularly his limited screenprints and lithographs that appeal to a broad collecting audience.
