Antique rococo-style dressing-table mirror – finely carved ivory-work – Dutch – 19th century
Description
Elegant antique dressing-table mirror in rococo style, made from finely carved traditional ivory-work and dating from the 19th century. The mirror is richly decorated with graceful openwork curls, leaves and volutes typical of the rococo revival popular in Europe in the latter half of the 19th century.
The top is crowned with a decorative cartouche motif, while the bottom features a particularly refined openwork ornament that gives the piece a light, elegant appearance. The mirror glass has a beautiful classic shape with light facet-cutting.
