Ralf Altrieth presents 'Les signaux multiples - XXL', an acrylic on canvas painting, original edition, created in 2021, measuring 150 × 180 cm, signed on the back and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
This painting is part of the artist's latest works still available from the 2021 period, a cycle marked by a density of figures on transparent and vibrant backgrounds.
Entitled 'Les signaux multiples' ('The Multiple Signals'), it is a unique work, directly from the studio. Fully hand-painted in acrylic on canvas, it is signed on the back and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Very good condition.
The photos are taken in natural light, as faithfully as possible to the real colors. The situational visuals allow readers to appreciate the dimensions and the physical presence of the painting. The proportions are preserved.
With its monumental format of 150 x 180 cm, the painting unfolds a true field of visual energy. On a translucent background animated by red splashes and vibrant traces, a multitude of figures emerge and respond to one another: fragmented faces, imaginary animals, floating eyes, colorful signs. Blue shapes cross the space like impulses or messages, while black lines draw an instinctive and free world.
At this scale, the work does not read from a single glance: it is discovered by moving around it. Each detail acts as a signal, a fragment of story or dream, giving the impression of a secret communication between the figures. The painting thus becomes a living territory, both playful, mysterious, and deeply expressive.
Created without any preliminary sketch, the composition is built in the gesture, through successive adjustments, until reaching a “precision”: a balance between instinctive energy and controlled structure. This process gives the work a living energy and a strong presence.
A German painter living in the south of France, trained from adolescence and then at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nürtingen (Germany) at the end of the 1980s, Ralf Altrieth has been exhibiting for over thirty years in France and Germany, notably at MAC Paris, the Théo de Seine gallery (Paris), and the Hartmut Beck gallery (Erlangen). His works are today in private collections around the world.
"Painting is something bigger than me. It lets me go further, to see more. I now feel that by painting I am creating myself." (Ralf Altrieth)
