Sculpture, uomo seduto - 138 cm - Plaster

This is a life-size plaster sculpture patinated to resemble bronze from the early decades of the twentieth century, depicting a young nude male with his genitalia covered, seated on a rock, lost in thought. The work was present up to the seventies in the atrium of the Arciconfraternita di Misericordia in Cascina (Pi) and was subsequently acquired by my uncles, together with my father, who were active in the production and sale of furniture in the Florentine Renaissance style. The author is unknown. An inscription carved with a chisel on the base is not decipherable. The condition is fair; there are sporadic areas of color loss here and there. The weight is considerable, well over 110/120 kg. The height is 138 cm, the width 90 cm, and the base 70 x 46 cm. Color: bronze-like. Dismantling and shipping are at the buyer's expense. Alternatively, I can arrange removal, packing, and shipping myself subject to prior agreement with the buyer.
