Pair of carved wooden frames gilded with gold leaf, Italian craftsmanship from the 1960s–1970s, each external 40×35×4 cm (internal 32×28 cm), in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Pair of gilded leaf wood frames – Italian craftsmanship – 60s-70s
Elegant pair of decorative frames in carved and leaf-gilded wood, made in Italy between the Sixties and Seventies according to the tradition of Italian decorative craftsmanship.
The frames feature a richly worked structure with ornamental motifs of classical taste: scrolls, floral elements and small decorative details that recall the style of frames in Baroque and Rococo fashion reinterpreted in the decorative production of the second half of the twentieth century. The workmanship shows good execution quality, with well-defined carvings and a warm and luminous gilding that enhances the surfaces and reliefs.
Inside there is a lighter inner band that creates an elegant contrast with the external gilding, giving greater visual depth and making these frames particularly suitable to enhance prints, small paintings or photographs.
Objects of this type were very common in Italian domestic furniture of the Sixties and Seventies and today they are particularly appreciated for their ability to fit both in classical environments and in more eclectic or contemporary contexts, where the gilding and decorative richness create an interesting stylistic contrast.
The prints depicted inside the frames are for purely illustrative purposes and are not part of the lot for sale.
Ideal for collectors, interior designers, or for anyone who wishes to adorn a wall with an elegant and timeless decorative element.
Dimensions of each frame:
Height: 40 cm
Width: 35 cm
Depth: 4 cm
Good overall condition, with slight signs of wear consistent with the age of the objects.
Adequate packaging and trackable shipping across Europe.
