Description from the seller

Set of 8 Silver-Plated Charger Plates – Ruban Croisé Pattern – Europe

Elegant set of eight large silver-plated charger plates (sous-assiettes), decorated with the classic Ruban Croisé (crossed ribbon) border motif. This refined decorative pattern, inspired by neoclassical tableware designs, was widely used by European silversmiths during the 20th century for formal dining services.

Charger plates of this size were traditionally placed under dinner plates during formal meals to create an elegant table presentation and to protect the tablecloth. They are especially suitable for luxury table settings, receptions, festive dinners, or decorative table displays.

The plates are silver plated on red copper, which explains the slight copper tone visible in some areas where the silver plating has worn, typical for pieces that have been used over time. These signs of use add authenticity and character. Please carefully examine the photos, as they form part of the description.

Each plate bears a silversmith’s hallmark, confirming the quality of the silver plating. Two crossed keys.

Diameter: approx. 30 cm
Height: approx. 2 cm

Weight
Total weight: approx. 5.5 kg

Good overall vintage condition with normal signs of use. Some areas show wear to the silver plating with red copper visible, as shown in the photos.

A beautiful and impressive set that will enhance classic or contemporary table settings.

The items will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking and insurance.
