Antique tin bottle from the Netherlands, dating to the 1960s, square form with a height of 9.5 cm and base dimensions 4.5 × 4.5 cm, engraved with monogram RW and the year 1817, in good used condition.

Antique pewter bottle / tobacco bottle – engraved monogram and year 1817
Special pewter bottle with a distinctive square shape and a robust stopper. This type of bottle was often used for spirits, medicinal liquids, or tobacco and today forms a beloved collectible within the world of pewter.
The front is beautifully engraved with a decorative frame in which the monogram “RW” and the year 1817 are placed. Above and below the monogram are graceful floral motifs that give the object a charming and personal character. This type of engraving was often applied as a mark of ownership or as a reminder of an important event.
The bottle has a lovely, authentic patina that has developed over the years and lends the object a warm historical appearance. The form is elegant yet sturdy, with subtly rounded corners and a classic pewter stopper that fits perfectly with the overall design.
At the bottom there is a hallmark with a shield and the indication 95%, indicating a high tin content. This confirms the quality of the material and the traditional artisanal craftsmanship.
This object represents a beautiful example of 19th-century style but was remade in the 1960s-1980s to resemble antique form.
