THE WORK
Ground Zero Dreams features a motionless astronaut beneath a rusty basketball hoop, in a nocturnal street marked by abandonment. At his feet, a ball. Nothing more. Nothing excessive.
The scene evokes childhood, improvised playgrounds, the simple dreams born on asphalt. But the astronaut, a symbol of an elsewhere inaccessible, seems frozen between two worlds: that of childish ambitions and that of adult reality.
The urban backdrop, dilapidated and silent, contrasts with the purity of the dream embodied by the spacesuit. Here, the playground becomes a starting zone. Basketball is no longer a sport, but a pretext to dream farther, higher.
This work speaks of dreams born at ground level, immense desires in modest places, and this silent question: how far can one go when starting from almost nothing?

THE ARTIST’S WORD
« Dreams do not always birth among the stars.
Sometimes they begin on a cracked court,
with a ball and the sky as ceiling. »

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Rudy Barret (@rudy_barret_photographe) explores popular dreams, urban nostalgia, and the fractures between childhood and adulthood through symbol-rich images with strong emotional charge.
His universe is distinguished by silent visual storytelling, a cinematic aesthetic, and precise and sensitive post-processing (Photoshop CC & Lightroom).
Each work is conceived as a reconstructed memory, a moment when the dream still flirts with reality despite its weight.
