Description from the seller
Juhász Katalin (born 1985), creating under the name JuKa, is an emerging artist who discovered her passion for art as a young adult. Her work is driven by the freedom of creativity and a constant exploration of different materials and techniques.
In her artistic practice, she works with a variety of mediums. She creates wooden sculptures that highlight the natural character and uniqueness of the material, while her mixed-media artworks and paintings combine textures, forms, and colors to create expressive and distinctive visual compositions.
JuKa’s works are unique, handcrafted pieces that blend the authenticity of artisanal creation with the fresh energy of contemporary art. As an emerging artist, she aims to create artworks that bring character, atmosphere, and individuality into the spaces of collectors and art enthusiasts.
This striking mixed-media wall piece reinterprets the rich geometric traditions of Islamic ornamentation within a contemporary artistic framework. The composition is built on a strict symmetry: delicately structured rosette and star motifs appear in the four corners and at the center, evoking the intricate visual language of classical arabesque decoration.
The surface is defined by layered dark patinas and metallic tones, lending the work an industrial character while simultaneously conveying a sense of timeless monumentality. Textured, rough surfaces contrast with the polished metallic bars placed along the vertical axis of the composition. These silver and gold elements introduce rhythm and visual balance, subtly guiding the viewer’s eye across the structure of the piece.
The meeting of geometric order and raw materiality creates a compelling tension: the spiritual harmony of traditional ornamentation encounters a contemporary, almost architectural aesthetic. As a result, the artwork bridges historical decorative traditions with the dynamic presence of a modern abstract wall object.
With its strong decorative presence and tactile surface, the piece functions as a powerful visual focal point in contemporary interiors, architectural spaces, or gallery environments.
