Description from the seller

Rare and elegant collectible decanter carafe, made by the renowned Argenteria G. Galbiati of Milan for the historic Distilleria Gio. Buton & C. of Bologna.

This art object combines the craftsmanship of Milanese silversmiths with the charm of the great post-war Italian spirits.

The body is blown and hand-hammered glass with star decorations. The metal part, finely silvered, features a splendid worked spout and a sculpted handle depicting a mythological creature/dragon richly engraved.

On the bottom is the original bee hallmark with the inscription "G. Galbiati Milano". The original label of Distilleria Buton (Bologna) with license no. 3 is still present, a detail that guarantees its origin and era (circa the 1950s).

Excellent vintage condition. The silver presents a beautiful patina of time that can be polished or left as is to preserve its historical charm. Glass intact, without cracks.

The decanter has Galbiati plating, famous for being very thick and of high quality (often called "Argenteria Sheffield" in Italian).
