With Sonic Recharged, SKE revisits one of the most iconic video game characters by projecting him into a distinctly urban and contemporary universe.
The famous blue hedgehog appears here as a reinvented pop icon: his legendary energy blends with the visual codes of street art through graffiti, paint splatters, and raw textures. This artistic intervention transforms the 90s hero into a true symbol of urban culture.
Between generational nostalgia and graffiti aesthetics, SKE captures the spirit of speed, freedom, and audacity that marked an entire generation of players.
A vibrant and immediately recognizable work, intended for collectors who appreciate timeless video game icons reimagined through the energy of contemporary street art.
- ARTIST BIO:
SKE is a self-taught French artist and all‑round creative who grew up immersed in the 80s/90s culture, inspiring a large portion of his artistic oeuvre.
He constantly explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stenciling, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with double meanings, fuse the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art.
After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s value has risen notably. Laureate of the first prize at the Urban Master contest (2023), then named Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025).
SKE was selected as the "Artist of the Month" by Opulence Gallery in October, and he also benefited from a feature in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition.
His works have already been shown at major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, consolidating his place on the contemporary art scene. In parallel, SKE also establishes himself in the digital art market, a major trend of the last two years, enhancing the appeal of his creations to collectors.
Icons of popular culture, bold graphics, and a play of textures define a style that's now indispensable.
SKE is without a doubt an artist to watch, to start or enrich a collection with rising value.
Artist Ranked & Awarded – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art
A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY
SKE’s work belongs to a prestigious lineage. His line reveals the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or the pioneer Blek le Rat. His works bridge eras: they revisit the classics, not hesitating to reinterpret the Mona Lisa by Da Vinci, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to confront them with a modern urban aesthetic akin to Mr Brainwash or Kaws.
POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA
Drawing on the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He stages the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics, and graphic novels is omnipresent: from the Nintendo universe and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokemon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), and to Marvel superheroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami.
LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY
In a style sometimes reminiscent of Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits beside luxury and fashion logos. His canvases capture the "Hype" aesthetic: the sneaker world (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and high fashion (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin) appear. He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass-consumption icons like Coca-Cola. It’s vibrant art with textured finishes evoking the glossy surface of Jeff Koons or the facets of Richard Orlinski.
This work is ideal to enrich a collection or bring a dynamic touch to your interior.
