Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) - " Aurora Authentic Fake " - 10/30
The only truly authentic Fake!
Following the undeniable success of the AMA series " Aurora Borealis " often copied and on the verge of censorship on the pretext of "infringement", the artist Pope returns with an even more free and provocative creation.
Since luxury brands want to muzzle artistic expression, here’s a flamboyant wink: Aurora Authentic Fake.
A unique pop art lamp, where you can read in full letters " DO NOT BUY " and " FAKE "… An invitation to bid, one could say!
By day, a chromed teddy bear with a futuristic glow.
By night, an explosion of multicolored auroras that blaze on your walls.
Two faces, one same irony.
Limited edition of 30 pieces for 2025, signed, numbered and delivered with AMA certificate of authenticity.
Fast and careful shipment (bubble wrap, tissue paper, reinforced carton) with signature on delivery.
Specifications:
- 7 luminous colors
- 3 diffusion modes (fixed, fades, simple transitions)
- Powered via USB cord with switch (included)
- Height: 20 cm
- Width: 9 cm
- Depth: 9 cm
A collectible object that repurposes censorship into art, turning the " Aurora Authentic Fake ” into a true original.
Who is AMA?
Born from the fusion of French artist friends’ talents, the AMA collective takes you into their universe of vibrant colors and varied materials.
Sculptures, paintings and installations, the collective passionately employs a multitude of techniques to bring their works to life.
The AMA collective mainly draws inspiration from the world around them but also from movements of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name just a few.
Whether as a gift, a keepsake or part of your personal collection of contemporary art, you will easily find your favorite piece thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, AMA pursues its passion for urban art through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in or out of edition) addressing a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, drug abuse, luxury brands and haute couture, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, food and fashion industry (sports, sneakers...),
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, AMA likes to mischievously distort labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to appreciate the lot being sold is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unjustified claim will be considered. Thank you for your understanding.
