Pedestal compote dish – pressed-and-cut glass with a gilded brass mount.
Pedestal compote dish in clear pressed glass cut with radial fan motifs and diamond-point facets, forming a flared bowl with a wavy lobed edge. Circular openwork base in gilded brass, chased with volutes and rocaille decoration. Underside view: star-shaped floral relief pattern with a central metal socket for mounting. Some natural air bubbles (typical of pressed-moulded glass). Origin unidentified (likely Europe, France, Belgium or Bohemia, 1900s-1930s). Good overall condition: no cracks, chips or breaks to the glass; light wear and oxidation on the gilding (scuffing, dull areas). Weight 700 g. Total height 18 cm, bowl diameter 19 cm. Provenance: private Belgian collection.
