Description from the seller
Two vintage wooden tennis rackets – Snauwaert / Slazenger – 1970s – Collectibles
Description:
Two classic vintage wooden tennis rackets from the 1960s–1970s era. Such rackets were used before the introduction of modern graphite and aluminum frames and are today popular among collectors and as decorative items.
The first racket comes from the Snauwaert brand (Belgium) and is labeled “Rala Sport – Synchro Power Shaft.” Snauwaert was especially a well-known European tennis brand in the 1960s and 1970s.
The second racket is a model from Slazenger, a traditional British sporting goods manufacturer, founded in the 19th century. The model is labeled “Challenge Power – Fibre Armoured.”
Both rackets feature classic wooden frames with original strings and leather grip wrap. One racket also has a sticker reading “In Deutschland durch Klemmer-Tennis-Service,” which points to a period restringing or maintenance.
The rackets show age-related signs of use such as scratches, worn finish, and patina, but are overall in collectible condition.
Such wooden rackets are especially popular today as vintage sport memorabilia or decorative objects for sports rooms, clubs, or collections.
