Mixed-media portrait Marilyn by Giuliano Grittini (b. 1951), 2017, hand-signed, original edition, 35 × 35 cm, made in Italy.
Description from the seller
The artist Giuliano Grittini (Corbetta, 1951) is an Italian photographer, art printer, and visual artist known for having invented the technique of "Cracker Art." This special technique involves the use of precious materials (such as gold and silver leaf) and the artist's direct manual interventions on prints or photographs. The image is "crumpled" or decomposed and then reassembled, often with the addition of inscriptions, glitter, and varnish, making each piece unique, unlike the serial productions typical of pop art. In this artwork he depicts the face of Marilyn Monroe with a mixed technique that incorporates photographic elements, text, and an aged appearance—"cracker art" that simulates a torn poster or a collage on paper. Signed at the bottom and authenticated on the back. The lot will be carefully packed and shipped with approved couriers. For this lot, shipments outside the European Community are not made.
