Obsidian Breath is a large-format contemporary abstract piece, entirely realized and hand-sculpted by the artist Maria Ruisi.
This unique piece explores matter as a living language, between mineral density and luminous respiration.
The deep relief, worked layer by layer, creates a vibrant surface where light glides, clings and transforms depending on the viewing angle. The sculpted textures reveal a silent, almost telluric energy, evoking the meeting of fire and earth, of shadow and awakening.
The chromatic palette — deep emerald green, volcanic brown and obsidian black — gives the work a presence that is at once elegant and powerful. Each shade subtly evolves with lighting, offering a reading that is always renewed.
