AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Andrea Giorgi was among the TOP 10 sculptors of 2024 and among the TOP 50 artists out of 129,000 in 2025 on one of the leading online platforms specializing in art sales.

Biography
Andrea Giorgi (1974), born in Italy, worked as an interior designer for 10 years and then as an interior designer for megayachts for 12 years. He was one of the first Italian digital artists to exhibit his works at international fairs and exhibitions starting in 2008. Some of his artworks decorate the luxurious interiors of prestigious yachts. One of his pieces was purchased by Ferrero, becoming part of an important international private collection of contemporary art.

Since 2016 he has also been a digital sculptor, and his sculptures are now found all over the world. Andrea Giorgi was one of the first sculptors to sell on Catawiki, and since 2016 he has been a pioneer with his boxers, his characters emerging from magazines and walls, and his reticular sculptures—works that many artists on Catawiki and other platforms now reinterpret and reproduce in various forms.

Generally opposed to much of today’s pop‑art/street‑art trend—where too many artists buy sculptures (often unfortunately of Chinese origin), paint them, and add famous logos without even specifying that they did not create the sculpture—Giorgi designs all his sculptures entirely using 3D techniques. He then prints them in Italy using different technologies (from the simplest and most affordable plastic jet printing to the most complex and expensive laser printing). The laser‑printed sculptures are then hand‑painted by the artist. He also collaborates with a renowned Italian foundry for the production of his most exclusive series: lost‑wax bronze sculptures.

Unlike many contemporary artists seeking rapid success by maximizing the number of pieces and sales, Giorgi’s philosophy—shaped by years of work in the luxury sector—is “LESS IS MORE.”
His annual production and sales are deliberately very limited, both in terms of new pieces and weekly sales on Catawiki.

Today it is almost impossible to purchase one of his works at auction without a reserve price. This is due both to the high production cost of most sculptures, which prevents “selling them off,” and to the need to safeguard the value of previously sold works. This ensures that the sculptures end up in the hands of collectors who almost never resell them except after many years, avoiding speculative purchases.

Andrea Giorgi’s sculptures are also extremely hard to find, as they are currently an exclusive of Collection, the contemporary art gallery founded in 2015 by Giorgi himself. The gallery represents both promising young Italian and European artists and established names such as Rabarama, Walter Valentini, Piero Gilardi, Aubertin, Roberta Coni, Annalù Boeretto, Salvatore Provino, Paolo Radi, Ceribelli, Giuseppe Amadio, Riccardo Gusmaroli, Giorgio Gost, Invader, Kaws, and others.
