From the artist:
*María José Fernández (Otura, Granada, 1985) is an Andalusian painter
specialized in landscapes that convey calm and a connection with nature. She lives
in La Quintería (Jaén), where she is inspired by southern light, the silence of the countryside, and family life. Her first contact with oil was at 17, and since then
she has developed a self-taught and deeply personal career.
Her figurative work stands out for serene atmospheres, reflections of water, and golden skies
that invite contemplation. She also works in small abstract series
where she explores sensations, colors, and forms inspired by land and sea. Each
of her pieces is hand-painted, with the aim of harmonizing with the
spaces and awakening emotions in those who contemplate it.
She has participated in solo and group exhibitions, such as at the Federico García Lorca Cultural Center (2017), Artes Jomasa (2019) and the Mundoarti Virtual Museum (2021).
