Description from the seller
Mc Caviar x Tiffany ice-cream cone with a mother-of-pearl spoon by XTC.
A reappropriation of a McDonald’s cone, the crossing of luxury and mass consumption.
This is not a cardboard McDonald’s cone; everything is made from plastics and painted by XTC, except the genuine mother-of-pearl spoon.
The glass cloche is an integral part of the piece.
Signed and numbered out of 15 below, Certificate of Authenticity (COA) provided.
The photographed piece is not necessarily the one that will be sent.
Careful packaging and trackable shipping.
Born in 1978 in the heart of France, XTC shaped his artistic universe through an interest in Design, Pop Art, and more recently Street Art. This visual exploration has turned into a passion that was destined to materialize.
XTC defines himself as a self-taught visual artist, aligned with the Pop Art movement, through the appropriation of contemporary mass-produced goods.
His creativity expresses itself through bold staging of icons of popular consumption (such as McDonald’s, Malabar, Chupa Chups), which he makes collide with the world of luxury (including Chanel, Hermes, Veuve Clicquot champagne, or caviar) and street art, further blurring the already tenuous boundaries between these worlds.
He expresses his art through sculpture, blending painting with all kinds of resins, plastics, and sometimes minerals.
He draws inspiration, among others, from Banksy, Keith Haring, Orlinski, Andy Warhol, Obey, advertising, and addictions in general.
All potential flaws or imperfections are an integral part of the work.
