Nexus by Henry Miller, 1st edition, softback, English, 367 pages, The Obelisk Press, Paris, 1960 (Volume I).
Description from the seller
Henry Miller – Nexus (Volume I) – Original 1960 Obelisk Press Paris Edition
A compelling piece of literary history: an early Paris edition of Nexus, the final installment of Henry Miller’s monumental trilogy The Rosy Crucifixion (following Sexus and Plexus). Published by the legendary The Obelisk Press, the house famous for printing avant-garde and "banned" English literature in France.
• Publication Details: Published in association with Éditions du Chêne. Legal deposit 2nd quarter 1960. Printed by Aubin at Ligugé, June 30, 1960.
• Historical Context: Obelisk Press editions are highly collectible as symbols of mid-century literary rebellion. Miller’s works were not legally available in his home country for decades, making these Paris imprints the only way for readers to access his "notorious" prose.
• Condition: A very authentic "vintage" copy. Original cream paper wraps with the classic red and black Obelisk typography. Shows characteristic age-toning (foxing) to the covers and spine, consistent with the high-acid paper used for these trade editions. Interior remains clean and legible.
A must-have for collectors of the Beat Generation, banned books, and 20th-century Anglo-American literature published in Paris
