Dutch school (XIX) - Zeezicht 19e eeuw

This painting comes from Stapelen Castle in Boxtel. Since the departure of the monks, I have been the owner of this work, which has been in my possession for about eight years.

It seems that the canvas is mounted on a panel, or that there is ‘panel on panel’ to prevent warping. This is executed with extremely skilled craftsmanship and is almost invisible.

Although the work appears to be signed, the signature is difficult to decipher; on the back there is, however, an old note with the name of the possible painter.

The work itself measures 67 x 51 cm and is fitted with a beautiful frame (83 x 67.5 cm). The total weight is 8.8 kilograms. The painting is about 150 years old and in good condition, with the usual signs of aging. To provide an accurate picture, I have attached both photos under artificial light and daylight.

Pickup in Boxtel is possible. Then the shipping costs are waived.
