Description from the seller
Pair of decorative ceramic tiles from Vallauris, designed by Roger Capron and produced in the 1970s.
The two tiles feature stylized plant motifs, depicted in dark drawing on a warm-toned, slightly textured ground.
The reduced, graphic representation recalls botanical studies and combines clear lines with the characteristic handmade surface of Vallauris ceramics.
The design corresponds to Roger Capron's typified form language, whose works often merge nature motifs with a calm, graphic composition.
The earthy tones and the deliberately restrained glaze underline the artistic claim of Vallauris ceramics of that era.
Vallauris developed in the second half of the 20th century into an important center of modern French ceramics, with Roger Capron among the most important designers.
His works combine functional pottery with decorative, often nature-inspired motifs and are collected internationally today.
The two tiles are decorative both individually and as a pair and are excellent as wall objects or for integration into a ceramic arrangement.
Through their calm, natural visual language and the typical Vallauris aesthetics, they represent fine examples of French studio ceramics from the 1970s.
The tiles have no cracks. Chips are documented in the photos.
Please refer to the photos for the dimensions.
The goods will be wrapped in padding foil and surrounded by bio-styrofoam inside a double-walled carton and shipped via DHL.
