Sandra Chinelate, oil on wood panel titled “Abigail” (2025), 83.5 × 63 cm, 2.3 kg, contemporary style, original, signed by hand, with certificate of authenticity, sold directly by the artist.
Description from the seller
Oil painting on a wooden board.
Size: 83.5 cm x 63 cm, 2.7 cm thick due to the wooden rear frame that supports and protects the structure from possible deformations.
Signed bottom left
Dated 2025
With certificate of authenticity.
The work depicts a female figure in a pose of absorbed contemplation, lying on a chair that rises along a surreal direction, diagonally opposing the euphoric vitality of the chicken on the red armchair. The style, in a refined balance between abstraction and figuration, reveals a painterly essence distant from aiming to evoke immediate emotions. The artist's intention is not emotion, but the exploration of the bizarre: a dualism in which woman and bird exclude and complete each other simultaneously.
Sandra Chinelate, Brazilian, works on the physical and existential inquiry conducted with the tools of figurative painting. She holds a degree in literature, and as a child she was a self-taught artist; she moved to Italy and, influenced by her multiple sociolinguistic gaze, directs her painterly research to promote an encounter among diverse social subjects, where different ages, skin colors, passions and human uncertainties are contemplated from a strong desire of the artist to exalt their facets, safeguarding her characters from any prejudice. Since 2005 she has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows. She works with oil and mixed media on canvas and on panel.
