Elegant neoclassical bedside table / coffee table with marble top – Italy, mid-20th century
Elegant coffee table or bedside table with a neoclassical taste, made in Italy probably between the 1940s and 1960s. The piece is distinguished by the refined combination of materials and by the formal balance typical of the decorative tradition inspired by classicism.
The structure features a linear body supported by four slender, fluted legs, a hallmark of the neoclassical language that recalls the architecture of ancient columns. The legs finish with turned feet that give the piece lightness and elegance.
The top is made of natural light marble, a material widely used in fine mid-century furniture for its durability and its ability to enhance the underlying wooden structure.
The front is embellished with a central drawer with a veneered or polished solid wood panel, adorned with thin ornamental inlays in a classic taste and equipped with two metal handles with decorative backplates.
