Antigoni Tziora presents Spring Poem, a 2024 original acrylic painting on an MDF wood tray, a Neo-Expressionist portrait in blue, green, grey, pink, black and white, hand signed, measuring 45 × 29 × 1.5 cm.
Description from the seller
In this work, the artist moves beyond the traditional canvas, using a wooden MDF tray as her 'stage' to explore themes of identity, luxury, and historical erasure.
The artwork features a Neo-Expressionist portrait of an aristocratic lady, reimagined with a bold, light pink brushstroke 'blinding' her eyes, a signature move that critiques the anonymity of history and class. The portrait is set against a high-contrast background of black and white stripes, framed by a vibrant, turquoise border with playful polka dots and gold leaf accents on the handles.
Tziora’s mastery of color is evident in the floral details and the delicate lace collar, creating a beautiful tension between the 'shabby-chic' nature of the wooden tray and the sophisticated execution of the painting. This is a functional object turned into a powerful piece of fine art.
Acrylics and gold leaf(imitation) on MDF wood tray.
