Description from the seller
Beautiful globe on a chrome Art Deco base, designed by E. Bertaux and published by G. Thomas around 1920 in Paris.
Bertaux has been active since the mid-19th century in the publishing house of Delamarche in Paris, and later took over. In turn, G. Thomas again took over the publishing house from Bertaux; Bertaux designed the maps for Delamarche and from 1860 to about 1930 published his own 25 cm large 'Globe Metrique'.
The globe is in good condition, there is a dent just below Hawaii and a few small cracks that come with the age of the globe.
The Art Deco base is still in very good condition and the chrome is untouched and shines at you.
All in all a fine opportunity to acquire an iconic globe.
