Description from the seller
IN RISALTO:
• First series of the legendary Renault Twingo I (1993) conceived as a “pocket minivan”
• Held for many years by a single owner and always kept in a privately covered garage
• Preserved with the famous 1,239 cc C3G engine and equipped with the distinctive pastel green interior details of the very first series
• Complete with the rare original vintage Grundig radio from that era and dealer sticker on the rear window
• Equipped with a Historic Relevance Certificate (CRS) issued by A.S.I. and recorded in the registration document
HISTORY/PANORAMA:
Launched in 1992 and marketed from 1993, the Renault Twingo I, born from Yves Dubreil’s intuition and Jean-Pierre Ploué’s design, represented a real revolution in the city car segment. Characterized by the iconic “frog-face” monovolume profile and an exceptionally versatile cabin with a sliding rear seat and fold-down bed-like seats, the Twingo became a symbol of ’90s automotive design. This 1993 example belongs to the very first production batch, featuring interior details and controls in the characteristic pastel green color, an element later removed in subsequent restylings for cost reasons. The car was owned by a single lady for many years, who used it daily and always parked it indoors in a covered garage. It is equipped with an official A.S.I. Historic Relevance Certificate (CRS) registered on the registration paper.
BODYWORK/PAINTWORK:
The bodywork and chassis are in excellent overall condition. The paint is glossy, uniform, and free of scratches, dents, or discoloration. The frame, underbody, and sills are solid and completely free of rust traces. The rear windscreen still bears the official dealer sticker that delivered the car new in 1993.
INTERIOR:
The cabin retains the original upholstery and trims in very good, clean, and spotless condition. All dashboard components are intact, including the distinctive pastel green buttons and air vents reserved for the first series. The car is fitted with the rare original-era Grundig car radio produced exclusively for Renault and is equipped with electric front windows. The electrical system is functional; it should be noted that occasionally some digits on the digital speedometer are faded and difficult to read.
MECHANICS:
Under the bonnet sits the classic four-cylinder C3G engine of 1,239 cc paired with a manual transmission. The mechanicals are in order and functional; the engine starts promptly even after long periods of inactivity. A practical battery disconnect switch has been installed in the engine compartment. Recently, all fluid levels have been checked and the oil filler cap has been replaced with a new original Renault spare part (the worn original cap, which has a small crack, is provided as a spare).
DOCUMENTS:
The car is supplied with its original black/Italian number plates from the period and with the registration certificate bearing the official note of the Historic Relevance Certificate (CRS) ASI.
The car is located in Moncalieri (Turin), Italy.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
