Description from the seller
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Single ownership for the last 20 years
• Preserved as part of the Haaning Collection museum in Denmark
• Indicated mileage of 54,253 km
• Legendary 2.5-liter "Busso" V6 engine with rear transaxle layout
HISTORY/OVERVIEW:
Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign, the Alfa Romeo GTV6 2.5 combined sleek coupe styling with the renowned 2.5-liter "Busso" V6 engine. To optimize weight distribution, Alfa Romeo utilized a rear-mounted transaxle layout featuring a 5-speed manual gearbox positioned at the rear axle. This specific 1983 example features an indicated mileage of 54,253 km and has been under the same ownership for the past 20 years. During this time, the vehicle was preserved indoors as part of the Haaning Collection museum in Denmark.
BODYWORK/PAINT:
Finished in its original factory color combination of Grigio Nube Metallic (AR 763). The vehicle is presented as a restoration project, showing visible rust formation in several areas on the bodywork. The paintwork displays age-related wear, patina, and signs of use reflecting its older, unrestored state. A factory steel sunroof is present on the roof. Bidders are advised to carefully inspect the photos to assess the body condition.
INTERIOR:
The cabin features original beige fabric upholstered seats with matching striped door panels and dark carpets. Up front, the interior is equipped with open-style front headrests with mesh inserts, a three-spoke Alfa Romeo steering wheel, a central dashboard console with supplementary gauges, and a period-correct cassette radio. The entire interior shows signs of wear, surface patina, and age consistent with an unrestored classic over 40 years old.
MECHANICS:
Powered by a 2.5-liter Busso V6 engine paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle gearbox. Following a long period of static display, the engine was restarted in September 2026 and currently starts and runs. However, the vehicle has not been mechanically checked, serviced, or prepared for regular road use. Due to its prolonged inactivity, a comprehensive mechanical overhaul—including fluids, belts, hoses, brakes, and fuel system maintenance—is required prior to driving. Transport via trailer or car transporter is strongly recommended.
DOCUMENTS:
Danish registration documents. The vehicle currently does not have a valid MOT/inspection certificate.
The vehicle can be viewed and inspected by appointment in Gladsaxe, Denmark. The buyer is responsible for collection and transportation; due to its long period of inactivity, transport via trailer or autotransporter is strongly recommended. Any costs associated with registration transfer, export documents, or Certificate of Conformity (COC) are the responsibility of the buyer.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
