Bambini, a first edition hardback photography book by Paolo Pellegrin, signed on the title page, in English and Italian, 96 pages, Sinnos Editrice, 1996, original language Italian, with dust jacket, 31 × 24.5 cm, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Exceptionally signed copy on the title page by Paolo Pellegrin (born 1964) — unattainable online in a signed copy; rare and very expensive in an unsigned copy (up to €650). In excellent condition, almost like new.
32 full-page or double-page photographic plates. Text in English and Italian. Photograph captions at the end of the book with miniature reproductions. Black publisher's cloth binding with illustrated dust jacket.
A book about the suffering of children victims of war or illness. In the 1990s Paolo Pellegrin went to meet the children of Bosnia after the war, then to meet the children of Romania affected by the HIV/AIDS virus, as well as in various African countries ravaged by the same disease, and he published this very first book in 1996 about these various reports.
Paolo Pellegrin, born in 1964 in Rome, belongs to the movement of “concerned photography,” of which Eugène Smith was one of the model figures, and he quickly became one of the most influential photographers of our time. Associated with Magnum Photos since 2001, he became a full member in 2005. The eminent art critic Germano Celant recently published a monumental anthology of Pellegrin's work, gathering nearly a thousand images.
A book from my personal collection, in excellent condition, almost like new and kept with the utmost care. Protected shipping with reinforced packaging and internationally tracked postal service guaranteed. For multiple purchases, grouped shipping is possible with reimbursement of any excess postage paid via PayPal.
