Description from the seller
Rare first absolute edition (First Edition) of Gianni Schicchi's booklet, comic one-act opera by Giacomo Puccini, published in 1918 by Casa Ricordi on the occasion of the world premiere.
Gianni Schicchi debuted on December 14, 1918 at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, as part of the famous Puccini triptych (Il tabarro – Suor Angelica – Gianni Schicchi). This Ricordi edition is the first original printing, as confirmed by the Copyright 1918 by G. Ricordi & C., the dry Ricordi stamp, and the printing Printed in Italy, elements consistent with authentic editions of the era.
The cover, essential and with strong graphic impact, features a woodcut depicting the face of Gianni Schicchi, perfectly in line with Ricordi’s editorial aesthetics from the early twentieth century.
