Yves Offret (1946 – 2004)
Normandy painter
Born in 1946, Yves Offret devoted his life to painting, developing a body of work deeply rooted in his native Normandy. His studio, located in Conches-en-Ouche, was the site of a careful pictorial exploration of landscapes, changing lights, and the atmospheres of the region.
In the 1980s, he exhibited notably at Galerie Tuffier in Les Andelys, where his work drew the attention of an audience receptive to the poetry of his canvases. Faithful to a personal approach, Offret favors intimate painting, where nature and scenes of daily life transform into sensitive evocations, imbued with serenity.
Died in 2004, Yves Offret leaves behind a discreet but sincere body of work, bearing witness to the artist's attachment to his homeland and to the simple beauty of everyday life.
