Mascheroni - La Geometria del Compasso - 1797

Rare and sought-after first edition, dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte, of this important treatise by Lorenzo Mascheroni (1750-1800), in which he discusses geometric constructions to be carried out with the sole use of the compass, excluding the straightedge.
The set of demonstrations contained in this work proves the following theorem: “Every problem solvable with a straightedge and compass is solvable also with the compass alone.”
