With this square-format work, Medsan continues his bold exploration and gives us a new, distinctly urban and humorous view of traditional Japan. This print features a mythical figure from ukiyo-e and Japanese culture — a stealthy ninja (shinobi) — reimagined as a contemporary fast-food delivery rider.

The visual and temporal contrast is striking: dressed in his traditional dark, loose outfit, the face half-masked to preserve his historical anonymity, our night courier wears a pair of ultra-modern high-top sneakers — a nod to sneakerhead culture and streetwear. In perfect balance, he holds in one hand a impressive stack of colorful boxes stamped "Edo Pizza Delivery," while in the other he grips a slice of pepperoni pizza, caught in the act of a gourmet break in the middle of a mission.

The impact of the work also rests on its intense, solid violet background. This lack of decor, very inspired by modern Pop Art, highlights the dynamism of the crouched pose and the biting irony of the situation. The signature "Medsan" in katakana (メドサン) placed in the lower right corner seals this perfect fusion between Edo-period classical art, hype culture, and our instant society.
