Medsan's Graffiti Bushido (グラフィティ武士道) — Hand-signed 40 × 40 cm giclée on canvas, edition of 1 in a limited edition (2026, France).
Description from the seller
MEDSAN - Graffiti Bushido – Le Samouraï Vandale – Graffiti Bushido
With this square-format work, Medsan hits hard and gives us a resolutely urban and transgressive vision of traditional Japan. This splash features the figure of order and loyalty par excellence of the Edo era — a Samurai in full armor (Yoroi) — reimagined in the skin of a nocturnal street artist caught in the act of vandalism.
The visual and philosophical contrast is striking: equipped with his impressive horned helmet (Kabuto) adorned with a dragon, our warrior does not draw his katana, but a spray can. Clutching other paint bombs under his arm like precious ammunition, he tags large dripping letters in a bright cyan blue. The sacrilege is total: his canvas is none other than a traditional sliding door (shoji) on which already appear classic ink drawings of a demon (Oni) and a dragon.
The impact of the work rests on the explosive encounter between classical Japanese art and Hip-Hop/Graffiti culture. The sky-blue, Pop Art–style background makes the indigo armor and the cyan of the tag pop. The artist’s signature, “Medsan” in katakana (メドサン), is no longer neatly relegated to a cartouche: it is the heart of the action, illegally projected onto the rice paper.
A piece with extraordinary charisma, both rebellious and masterfully executed, ideal for bringing a true urban energy and street art vibe to a designer interior.

About the Atelier:
Atelier Joconde is a workshop of artists united around a living and plural contemporary creation. Set up like a true production space, the atelier operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family adventure. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, realized, and supervised within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
