Description from the seller
This exquisite decorative Bakelite box, crafted in the era when Bakelite reigned as the quintessential luxury material, embodies the perfect union of vintage sophistication and enduring craftsmanship. Bakelite the very first fully synthetic plastic was developed in the early 20th century and became synonymous with Art Deco and Modernist design throughout the 1920s-1930s, adorning jewelry, powder boxes, desk accessories, and everyday treasures with its warm, lustrous presence.
Decorated with metal trim, this piece is more than a storage object it's a refined accessory for your personal collection. Its elegant silhouette and tactile depth make it a standout object of desire on any dresser, vanity, or boudoir tableau. The base is slightly deformed, so it stands a little unevenly. It still closes but opens easily. The lock is not present.
